On January 11, 1935, Amelia Earhart became the first person to fly solo across the Pacific from Honolulu to Oakland, California. In 1937, as Earhart neared her 40th birthday, she was ready for a monumental, and final, challenge. She wanted to be the first woman to fly around the world.
On Thursday, March 5th, we heard from Amelia herself, portrayed by Julie Warren from Women in History for a special dessert event.
Proceeds went to the Euclid Public Library Foundation.

This popular event featured locally crafted beer from the company that began in Ohio City 26 years ago. Pat Conway, one of the co-owners of Great Lakes Brewery, joined us to talk about his beer, the sustainability efforts his company is so well known for and some of the historical recipes he has tried over the years.
Serving 13 states and Washington, D.C. with over 125,000 barrels annually, Great Lakes Brewery is one of the largest craft breweries in the country.
Proceeds from the event went to the Euclid Public Library Foundation.
